La Boite Theatre Company has a long history of creating opportunities for young and emerging artists. We offer internships/secondments in a wide range of activities, from direction, design and stage management to arts administration and marketing.
The next intake of internships will be advertised in August-September 2010 for 10 week October-December internships.
In 2010, applicants for internships in production must be current students at Queensland University of Technology or South Bank Institute.
Applicants for all other internships are welcome from the professional sphere as well as the tertiary sector. We are not able to provide work experience opportunities for high school students.
Our Internship Program allows students, graduates, and others to experience the inner workings of a professional theatre from every angle. It fosters the development of emerging arts practitioners, and also facilitates the learning of a range of skills in communication, research, management, problem solving, teamwork, and independent critical thinking.
Internships are advertised on this page and in our enews. To find out first when opportunities for particular internships are advertised sign up to our Artist Register.
Interns are selected by application and interview with department managers. Initial applications should outline how you meet the criteria of the internship supplied by us, your availability over the period and your related skills and experience.
