In 2010, we've got a really full education program. We enjoy engaging with teachers and students and always look forward to the new energies they bring to our work.
Our new season has lots of rich materials for schools. Group bookings are inexpensive, we provide free Teacher Resource Notes, and it's possible to meet with the actors after the show.
We offer curriculum-based workshops for students (in the theatre or at your school) and professional development workshops for teachers. We've got a big range of school holiday workshops lined up for 2010, for young people aged 8-18. And for adults, we've got eight-week acting Master Classes. All of these workshops are led by Queensland's best theatre practitioners.
La Boite Ambassadors returns in 2010 with 100 specially selected Year 11 and 12 students invited to become part of the La Boite team. Ambassadors attend all productions for free, get complimentary programs, meet the actors and creative teams, attend exclusive workshops through the year, and perform on the La Boite stage in a dedicated performance at the end of the year.
These theatre-passionate young people gain special insights into the workings of a professional theatre company and take a leadership role in introducing the work of La Boite to their peers, schools, and families.
